
Debra A. Schafer, DVM, CVA
Dr. Schafer grew up on a farm in Northeastern Indiana outside of Milford. She enjoyed the animals and spending time riding on farm calls with her father who also is a veterinarian. She graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. She practiced in several veterinary clinics ranging from mixed to small animal for the next 8 years. She then took a hiatus from veterinary practice and joined the Monastery of the Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand, Indiana where she became a Benedict Sister. She took Theology classes and worked in multiple disciplines for 2 years before she went back to veterinary practice as a Sister. She decided to leave the Monastery as a Sister but continued to work full-time as a veterinarian. During this time she furthered her education by going back to school at the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine. She graduated in December of 2005 and continued her education in Chinese Herbology. She opened her veterinary clinic, All God’s Creatures Holistic Healthcare in September of 2010, where she incorporates Acupuncture, Herbs, Food Therapy with Western Veterinary Medicine as indicated. She is currently taking courses to become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist, which she will complete is spring 2020.
